🌿 Welcome to the Santuario Ecológico Salomón Herrera Thank you for visiting our official site — currently a work in progress as we continue to build and expand our vision for environmental education and conservation in La Cañada, Intipucá. The Santuario is home to four major programs designed to inspire learning, stewardship, and sustainable development: Outdoor Lab – hands-on scientific learning in ecology and sustainability. Observatory – a space for exploration of the skies and environmental monitoring. Bird Sanctuary – protection and study of native and migratory species, including El Salvador’s national bird, the torogoz. Ecotourism – guided experiences to the Laguna de Olomega and El Esterón in Intipucá Beach, connecting conservation with community. We invite you to discover, learn, and protect — together, we are shaping a future where nature and knowledge thrive side by side.
Our Mission
El Santuario Ecológico Salomón Herrera focuses on conserving natural spaces and fostering scientific research in El Salvador, emphasizing sustainability and environmental preservation. Our goal is to enhance knowledge and protect the rich biodiversity within the region.
